Departments
The ILM is currently divided into 3 departments with a total of 8 working groups. The predominantly physical/technical groups are complemented by a biology group. This enables competent interdisciplinary work on projects ranging from optics design to application on living cells and tissues.
In this department you will find competences in laser medicine, diagnostics and the development of devices with the following working groups:
The focus of this department is on experimental and theoretical research on light propagation and the methods and devices derived from this.
Working groups:
Current core competences of the department are digital holography, chromatically encoded 3D metrology and photothermics. Three working groups are under construction:
