Model-based fringe projection: Innovative measuring systems at the ILM

The ILM has developed several measurement systems applying model-based fringe projection, which differ in particular with regard to the light sources used and their spectral range. For example, a measurement system with nine LEDs with wavelengths between 450 nm and 950 nm

has been set up, which enables measurement rates of 10 Hz, thus, enabling a large number of in vivo and online applications. Hyperspectral measurement systems in the ultraviolett, visible and near-infrared wavelength range (from 200 nm to 1600 nm) were also developed at the ILM.

Mono-, multi- and hyperspectral measurement systems

  • Measuring systems using only one wavelength are particularly suitable for determining surface topography, surface roughness and depth selective imaging (see picture)
  • Multi- and hyperspectral measuring systems also allow the determination of chromophore concentrations and the exact characterization of the microstructure
