Several times a year we offer training courses to acquire the qualification as laser safety officer according to OStrV / TROS for laser users in the environment of clinic, practice and laboratory.
The course is recognized as an advanced training with 9 advanced training points by the Landesärztekammer Baden-Württemberg.
A laser safety officer must be appointed and notified to the competent authority in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Ordinance on Artificial Optical Radiation - OStrV and the Technical Regulations on Optical Radiation (TROS) "Laser Radiation" derived from it when operating laser equipment of Class 3R, 3B and 4.
The course is intended for all those who use lasers in the medical field, from doctors and medical assistants to laboratory personnel or medical technicians.
The content and scope of the courses are such that the course participants can acquire the knowledge required to acquire the expertise for laser safety officers as required by the regulations of the professional associations (VBG) or the statutory accident insurers (GUV).
We pay special attention to a good understanding of the interaction of laser radiation with biological tissue, as this is, from our experience, very important for the safe operation of lasers as well as for an understanding medical application.
